This tournament is in its 20th year , having been started in 1998 by Sheila Le Var who thought it would be nice for the netballing ladies in Jersey to play for the parish they reside in, thus allowing girls to play in a team with other players from different league clubs and therefore encouraging a more community, non competitive feel to the tournament. It was lovely that in this special 20th year, there was all the twelve parishes represented with a team.
Two points are deducted from the final score for each 1st division player fielded in a team to allow an 'even' playing field and to encourage 2nd and 3rd division players to get involved.
This year saw the introduction of 'rolling subs' which gave the games a new dimension and allowed greater intensity during the match for the whole twelve minute spell. It also allowed managers to play their full squad.
St Brelade were the winners of the tournament (for the third year running) aided by the influential Gill Kaye at shooter and Carol McKeon at centre positions.
