Nicki Hindmarch rounded of a long weekend of umpiring course today with the C Course. It is important we increase the number of qualified umpires within the JNA also well as generally improving the standard of umpiring in the Island. This will inevitabley improve the standard of our overall game.
A number of players attended the 3 courses on offer - Friday a Youth Beginners Umpiring course for those in years 5 - 9, Saturday B Umpire Course, finishing with the C Course on Sunday. Well done to those who attended and thank you for those who gave up their time to play short games so that the umpires could put in to practice the theory learnt with Nicki in the mornings. Without players turning out the Umpires could not continue to learn with Nicki giving her the chance to assessing and giving feedback - some players turned out for both sessions and deserve and extra big thank you!

As per JEP report for this weeks results "St Clement [A] put their foot down"!! with a decisive victory over newly promoted St Brelade B. There were other strong performances from Convent A over Convent D and St Lawrence A over their on B Team. In Division 2 Accies B and C remain unbeaten with the A team not playing this week. Accies B won convincingly over Convent E and Accies C overcame early injuries to beat St Lawrence D. St Saviours had their first game since being promoted this week and after a bnervous start were pleased to walk away with a bonus point for a half score against St Clement D who were shooting well from the off. In Division 3 Accies D claimed their first victory over St Lawrence E with a strong team performance especially from the defence which is promising given that they are a young team. St Brelade C survived a nervy final quarter against St Clement F to come out on top and St Clement E and St John beat St Ouen and St Clement Ladies respectively. The latter game ending with a close final score. Thanks to everyone with their help on feedback from the games.

St Brelade were the proud winners of the Mourant Ozannes supported Sheila Le Var Inter Parish Netball Tournament last night.
St Brelade were runaway winners of the tournament remaining unbeaten throughout to lift the trophy for only the second time since the inception of the annual completion in 1999. The defensive trio of Manager, Laura Ross, Emma Blampied and daughter Jodie Blampied was formidable with opposing teams finding it very difficult to get the ball through to the shooters. Parish stalwart Jill Kaye was impressive form in St Brelade's shooting circle, fed superbly by Parish newcomer Siobhan Windley who took the centre position.
St Ouen finished in second place, having lost out only to the winners and St Lawrence. St Helier, St Clement St Lawrence and Trinity finished
close on point to take the next four position
Well done to all the Teams, their Managers and Umpires, and of course thank you to the organisers Wendy Luce. Special thanks to Sheila Le Var for her brilliant support and also to Mourant Ozannes for supporting the tournament.

Team Jets coach Linda Andrews has won the Sid Guy Memorial award for her contribution to Jersey netball over more than three decades.
Andrews, who is also Jersey's head coach, was honoured at the annual Jersey Sports Council awards on Friday night.
"It's absolutely amazing," Andrews said "For me to win, it's just an absolute bonus before the inter-insulars [against Guernsey] this weekend."
On a great night for Jersey netball, the Perpetual Team Trophy went to Team Jets after a year which has seen them pushing for promotion from South West Regional League One at the first time of asking.
